WHAT IS ANXIETY? 
Anxiety is the term for a combination of mental and physical symptoms that are related to the fight or flight' response. This is when the body reacts to a threat or stressful event by physiologically preparing to defend itself or flee. This involves releasing specific neurochemicals in the brain, such as serotonin, which if not released or re-absorbed correctly can result in a chemical imbalance that causes anxiety. When this anxiety reaches a debilitating level it is referred to as an anxiety disorder.

Anxiety disorders are divided into three main categories: 

- Generalised Anxiety Disorders: characterised by over exaggerated worrying about everyday matters. The anxiety may not be focused around a single issue or factor, with the sufferer simply aware that they are anxious all the time and not what about or why.

I was never the type to clip coupons. Being an accountant, I figured out how much time I would need to spend at it versus what I would save. It wasnt worth my time. However, I always hated to pay full retail price for food when there were coupons out there, so, over time, I developed a method of couponing that saves our family enormous amounts of money and takes very little time. Here are 5 tips to get the most out of your couponing efforts.

 

Power Coupon Tip #1: BOGO is your friend. This will give you the "biggest bang for the buck. Its one thing to get $1 off a box of cereal but if the cereal is on sale at "buy one get one or BOGO, as its called, you will get the best deal. This is frequently where I end up getting something for free (or better). In a recent shopping week, for example, Zatarains Rice Blends were on BOGO. They were regularly $1.29 a box, so the BOGO price was 65 cents. I had 20 coupons for 50 cents off the purchase of two boxes. Our local stores double coupons so this equated to 50 cents off each box. That meant that I could purchase 20 boxes of Zatarains for 15 cents each. Not a bad deal. There are occasions when the coupon is worth more than the sale price of the item and I make money by buying the product. I do this frequently with Hamburger Helper.

However, I always hated to pay full retail price for food when there were coupons out there, so, over time, I developed a method of couponing that saves our family enormous amounts of money and takes very little time. Here are 5 tips to get the most out of your couponing efforts.

 

Power Coupon Tip #1: BOGO is your friend. This will give you the "biggest bang for the buck. Its one thing to get $1 off a box of cereal but if the cereal is on sale at "buy one get one or BOGO, as its called, you will get the best deal. This is frequently where I end up getting something for free (or better). In a recent shopping week, for example, Zatarains Rice Blends were on BOGO. They were regularly $1.29 a box, so the BOGO price was 65 cents. I had 20 coupons for 50 cents off the purchase of two boxes. Our local stores double coupons so this equated to 50 cents off each box. That meant that I could purchase 20 boxes of Zatarains for 15 cents each. Not a bad deal. There are occasions when the coupon is worth more than the sale price of the item and I make money by buying the product. I do this frequently with Hamburger Helper.

While donating to charity is its own reward, many companies and individuals alike enjoy the additional tax benefits that a charity donation can provide. Charity donations are tax deductible expenses, which can lower the amount that you pay in tax. These donations can be useful, but they have specific requirements that do not apply to all taxpayers.

In order to take a charitable contribution deduction, you will first need to be itemizing your expenses. This is important to keep in mind, because most American taxpayers dont itemize their expenses, but instead take the standard deduction. As of 2011, the standard deduction for individuals was $5,800. For married couples filing jointly and taxpayers filing as head of household the standard deduction was $11,600. In order to itemize your expenses, your deductions must exceed these standard deduction amounts. Otherwise, there will be no additional tax benefit for your charitable contribution.

To be deducted, the charitable contribution must have been made either in cash or in property that is in good condition. Volunteer services cannot be deducted as a charitable contribution.
